Building up the church in a new way - Jail changed me.

3/6/24

There are many areas in which I was changed in jail. One is my love for the whole body, for the church. We truly need each other, and I need to give much more focus to building up leaders and churches than I have done.

In jail, God gave me a vision of working with pastors and leaders and training them and their churches. I thought about gathering 10-12 pastors and working with them. And then everything happened, and I ended up in Mexico. But this is exactly what God had planned here. God has opened the doors to many pastors and churches here, and now I am training them, and what we see is beautiful. I meet with seven pastors every week, and we have what we call a kickstart with them where we lay the foundation of what a disciple is and how we obey Jesus' word in Luke 10 of healing the sick, casting out demons, and finding the person of peace, share the gospel, and lead whole households to God. Yes. We have already done this training with all seven churches and will continue to train the people in their churches. Besides this, I am in contact with 15 other pastors from different churches I am starting to meet with. And the fruit we are already seeing is fantastic. Something extraordinary is happening here. This will be the first of many places where we will do this. I have never worked like this before, and to be honest, I was not ready to work like this before I was in jail, but God changed me. He put love in my heart for the body, and that love covers a multitude of sins. In that way, I don’t overfocus on the small areas where we see and do things differently. I now have a love where I can walk side by side with people in a way I couldn't before, and I love it.

I don’t compromise what I believe. But instead of being too quick to judge others for what they do, I give them time, and together, we see them receiving from me and me from them.

This is amazing, and I will share more about this and what God is doing here in Mexico later. I have also started leadership teaching over Zoom for people connected to The Last Reformation in the US and Europe. This Zoom teaching is more for people who already follow The Last Reformation and are associated with us.

The next step is to share teaching publicly for everyone out there. Then, I want to gather 10-12 leaders in the US from more traditional churches who wish to join me on a journey to reform their churches to become a disciple-making movement. So, as you can read, many things are happening, and I am so excited about this new season of working with pastors and their churches.

God bless you, and let’s believe in a strong and mature church. Yes, as time goes on and we come closer to the return of our Lord, we will see the maturity of both the wheat and the weeds that are now growing side by side, as we see in Matthew, chapter 13. We will see more sin and the love of most grow cold, as Jesus said. But we will also notice a mature church arising at the same time. That is the remnant, the bride, holy and ready to meet our Lord in the clouds when He appears to bring us all salvation. That church will be as strong as we see the first church was in the book of Acts, yes, even more vital.

God bless you, and thank you for your prayers and support for me and my family. We are all in this together, and this is also your fruit.

Blessings,

Torben Sondergaard
